Quality Manager at , Palatine, IL

Well established precision grinding & honing company in the northwest suburbs is seeking qualified candidates to fill the Quality Manager position. The Quality Manager will be responsible for maintaining & improving a plant-wide quality system that focuses on customer satisfaction, defect prevention, and continuous improvement. We are an ISO 9001 certified job shop. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with strong knowledge in quality control and with experience in SPC.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Manage 2-3 QC technicians

Prioritize projects for QC technicians

Manage PPAP process for those customers who require it
Manage CAR  database
Manage other QC/QA programs per customer requirements
Shop Floor duties including calibration, 1st piece releases, etc

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a minimum of 5-7 years quality control experience in a machining or grinding environment.

Strong "hands on" analytical problem solving abilities
Must be experienced with measuring equipment (micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, dial bore gages, air gaging, etc.)
Must have the ability to interpret blue prints Must possess solid interpersonal and communication skills
Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus
College education a plus
