Inside Sales Representative at Lex Products, Shelton, CT

LEX Products is seeking a dynamic Inside Sales Rep with a technical background as an electrician, lighting designer or related to be a solution provider to our customers and prospects. The successful candidate will  build strong customer relationships by producing and following up on quotes, prospecting, responding to customer inquiries, and producing sales materials.

 

Responsibilities:

• Effectively gather information from the prospect/client or territory manager to assess needs and recommend appropriate solutions; produce accurate quotes

• Contact the customer to make sure quotes are received, products are correct and whether our pricing is competitive relative to our competition. Make appropriate recommendations to TM based on feedback. Get a commitment for a date to call and close the quote if the customer is not ready to buy immediately.

• Update existing quotes when pricing changes and communicate the change to the customer.

• Close sales

• Prospect for new clients as directed by the territory manager.

• Send out samples to prospects, customers and follow up to develop new business opportunities

• Update and maintain the customer data base of the territory

• Accurately transmit orders to customer service. Order information must have accurate part numbers, quantities, purchase order number, ship to, need date, labeling instructions, shipping method

• Make sure the customers questions are answered to their satisfaction

• Learn what product classes your customers are buying and expand their purchases to the fullest range of product possible

• Actively participate in weekly and monthly Sales Associate progress meetings.

 

Metrics/Accountability:

• Volume of quotes in sales funnel

• Accuracy of interpreting customer needs for appropriate solutions

• Dollar amount of booking in territory per week, quarter, year

• Sales Funnel total $$

• Customer Database maintenance – all records to include current contact information

• Positive customer satisfaction with ‘support’ as measured by the annual ESTA Customer Service Survey & internal Lex Survey

Administrative/Executive Management: Sales Representative

 

 

 

 

Education & Experience:

• Experience working for a company selling technical products and/or design-to-order solutions is a big plus, but not required

• Experience in Entertainment or Industrial applications is a plus

• Experience using Microsoft Office and/or Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) [ex. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft NAV, or Made2Manage] is a plus

• BS/BA preferred

• Successful sales experience, good presentation skills

• Computer literacy, MS Office

• Problem solving/analytical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong internal and external customer service skills

• Excellent interpersonal interactions and rapport skills
